Devon General Hospital: Emergency Department

Nurse at triage check-in didn’t even ask us what was wrong just told my wife to sit still because the blood pressure machine was not registering. She was screaming in pain and said she couldn’t feel her arm due to the machine. No compassion. Very disappointing. Update: We got in rather quick. There was one person in the waiting room when we arrived. The nurses and doctor in room have been amazing. Very bad first impression of the place with a great follow up. Some basic customer service training should be part of the curriculum and/or on-boarding. Increasing to a 4 star from a 1 star Update #2: had to return next day and every staff member including triage check-in was excellent!

I came yesterday to the emergency department with dizziness that did not last for 3 days. There were very nice and friendly ladies at the check-in, the nurses did everything quickly and professionally. I was treated by 2 doctors. In order to make sure that there is no hemorrhage in the brain, I was referred to Leduc, where I passed the analysis. Based on tests and symptoms, I was diagnosed with a concussion, which I agree with. And they consulted about treatment and how best to solve the issue with my work. I am very grateful to all the staff, thank you Devon Hospital!❤️ On the downside - it took 6 hours, but show me a hospital with a shorter wait😅

They said I had a wait time of 2 hrs but it took 6-7 hrs for them to come get me and during lunch after they finished they were all standing around and talking and not helping another patient and after that 2 patients left cause they said 3 hrs to them but it had been 5-6 hrs.When it was finialy my turn I saw that thier was one doctor but their were 5-6 nurses just following the doctor around. DON'T GO THEIR.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received at the clinic today. I arrived promptly at 9am, as directed by the estimated emergency wait times provided on the website, which indicated a wait time of approximately 30 minutes. However, it is now 12pm, and I am still waiting to be seen. I understand that emergencies can arise unexpectedly, leading to delays in service. However, it is unacceptable that I have been waiting for over three hours with minimal communication or updates regarding the status of my wait. To exacerbate matters, I observed only one patient being seen since my arrival, which leads me to question the accuracy and efficiency of your scheduling and triage processes. Such a discrepancy between the estimated wait time provided and the actual wait time experienced by patients is not only misleading but also disrespectful of our time and concerns. The lack of transparency and accountability in managing wait times at your clinic is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on the quality of service provided. I urge you to address this issue promptly and implement measures to improve the accuracy of your estimated wait times, as well as the overall efficiency of your clinic operations. Patients deserve better than to be left waiting for hours without any indication of when they will receive the care they urgently need. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and take the necessary steps to ensure that such delays and discrepancies are not repeated in the future.

Wait time was estimated at 2 hours, but we waited 5.5 hours. All the staff was fine, not overly friendly or sympathetic, but I know they are tired and overworked. Doctor was particularly rough with a laceration that we were there to have looked at, but his instructions were clear and thorough. All in all, exactly what I expect for a visit to the ER in Alberta.

I was here for hours waiting to be seen for a brain damage. I felt like i was going to black out so i had to go home. I went to other ER and realized that they forged up documents that i was seen by a doctor when i was never seen. Shady

I had a emergency incident on Saturday, which ended up this hospital emergency as the waiting time was less than other hospital. All the staff were helpful and considerate, the triage was fast. They did everything so fast, the guy that got the X-ray was so considerate, kind, professional and respectful. Dr. Doell was amazing and professional. He treat me very well and he act fast and meanwhile comforted me as I was scared and also in a lot of pain. I wanna say thanks to all healthcare staff 🙌♥️you guys are great people👍🏻

Worst wait times I’ve ever experienced for anything, it’s honestly worse then an airport and staff really don’t care if your dying or not
